Processing by the hot-spraying technique is done by means of a machine specially developed and manufactured for applying the liquid polyurethane plastic. This machine heats up the highly reactive components of the material, transports them separately and only brings them together right inside the application instrument. The high pressure with which the material is conveyed (300 bar) produces a particularly low-mist application.
Because of its particularly high abrasion resistance and extremely rapid drying time (dust dry after 10 minutes, passable after 60 minutes, mechanically loadable after 24 hours) this material is without alternative as regards its building-site suitability.
Its extremely short pot life of 90 seconds permits layer thicknesses of up to 6,000 µm to be effortlessly applied in one operation. Because of their chemo-technical properties, 2-component polyurethane liquid plastics are permanently resistant to fresh water, salt water and household cleaning agents as well as resistant to spillages of petrol, heavy oil and aromatic hydrocarbons.
The wide variety of uses relating to the coating of bridge ballast troughs with a daily performance of up to 400 m² in the case of complex older structures as well as abrasion-proof coatings on bulk-goods transporters, tank-roof seals and coatings on sheet piling in ground applications underscores the universal nature of the material.
